Janine Gavin joins Intuitive Journeys as a psychology partner and Spanish language clinician. Prior to coming to Intuitive Journeys she was a school psychologist for Washington DC Public Schools. Ms. Gavin currently performs psychological assessments for native Spanish speakers in the Spotsylvania school district. Ms. Gavin spent 3 years as a clinician working with cognitive and intellectually impaired populations in the Central Coast California region. Prior to her time in California she has worked in Alternative Education and research. Janine earned her BA in Psychology at Mount Saint Mary College and her MA from Marist College, her MPA from Metropolitan College of New York. She is currently a doctoral candidate in Educational Psychology from Regent University with a 2017 anticipated completion date.
Janine’s interests include, assessment and evaluation, learning styles and accommodations’ for special populations. Her primary clinical interest populations are in the areas of children without access to formal education or breaks in formal education due to trauma or immigration. Behavioral Specialist
Brienna Thompson is a Mental Health Coach and Behavioral Specialist focused on Post Traumatic Stress, grief, and trauma. She is originially from San Diego, California. She completed her undergraduate work at the University of Nevada, Reno in Cultural Anthropology and Psychology, then spent six years working with at-risk groups from different socio-economic and cultural backgrounds, in order to better understand and identify the unique interpersonal challenges across cultures. In 2011, she took a contract in Iraq that gave her direct insight into Post Traumatic Stress and how critically the process, and taboo surrounding it, need to be reshaped. Once debriefed, she began working with active duty Military and their families, as well as Veterans, to assist in providing relief during deployment transition, debriefing, End of Active Service transition, and other issues that arose once in the Veterans Affairs system. Brienna has been associated with the military since 2011 as a behavioral specialist and has worked closely, both in the US and overseas, with those who needed help processing, but did not want to "fly a desk" or be processed out of the military. Her ultimate goal is to remove the cultural taboo that surrounds actively seeking help for combat stress, grief, trauma, and post traumatic stress and create an environment where it is safe to process and work through underlying issues, that more often than not, rip families apart and destroy lives. In her spare time, Brienna runs obstacle course races, is the Veterans Outreach Director for Fredericksburg Team Red, White and Blue, and takes part in the Fredericksburg Area Veterans Council. She resides in Fredericksburg, VA and believes that 22 suicides a day is too many, that no one should suffer alone, and sometimes tough love is the best medicine. Rachel Seats, M.Ed, is an advocate of learning and champion of student empowerment. Growing up in Orange County, Virginia, she was the daughter of teachers and sibling of a Special Needs student. After graduating from Orange County High School, she attended Emory & Henry College, majoring in English and Education. While in the classroom, she was fascinated by literacy and effective learning strategies for all students. Rachel completed her Masters of Educational Leadership through University of Mary Washington. By working in various classroom settings and serving as an administrator, she is able to understand many of the nuances of the education system. Discovering Academic Life Coaching and its more personalized approach to learning, Rachel decided to leave public education and develop an agency for learners. By working with clients on their academic experiences, individuals are able to feel in control of their learning process and better able to access their potential. Kim Minnema has joined the IJ Life Balance Centre as a Life & Relationship Coach. Kim graduated from George Mason University in 2011 with a Bachelors in Psychology. After graduating she became a research assistant in a human emotions lab, analyzing inmates and their reactions. Along with her degree, she has much life experiences dating back to her early childhood which are an asset and gives her a better understanding of being a life coach. She specializes in a being a communication coach- an avenue where Kim can help you learn to communicate with spouses, children, family and/or co-workers in a more productive way; and a divorce coach- Kim has been through a divorce herself. Life coach services can be done in an avenue that is comfortable for you - in office, over the phone or over the internet. Maria Lewis Ramadane is excited to join Intuitive Journeys as a Life Coach. She brings a wealth of experience working with young children, adolescents, adults and families. Ms. Ramadane has over thirteen years of experience in public and private education as a mentor, teacher, adjunct instructor, and school administrator. Ms. Ramadane specializes in working with students with special needs including specific learning disabilities, emotional disabilities, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), and autism. She holds a Master of Education Degree and a post graduate certificate in Educational Leadership from George Mason University. Her undergraduate degree is in Communications from Elon University.
Ms. Ramadane is passionate about helping individuals reach their full potential. When working with clients, she guides them in discovering their personal truth. She has worked with beginning teachers, business owners, and families as they tackle the everyday challenges in their respective fields. Her experience with children includes teaching at the elementary, middle, and high school levels. She has facilitated social skills sessions, used positive behavior supports, and designed behavior intervention plans to help students modify their behavior.
Ms. Ramadane is a native of Spotsylvania County. She currently resides in the County with her two teenage sons.

What makes me different from other coaches?
My life experience, educational background, and passion make me different from other coaches. My experience in the classroom, as a classroom teacher, has helped me to gain a unique insight on the inner workings of the teenage mind. My experience mentoring and coaching beginning teachers has provided me an opportunity to guide novice in field to become award winning educators. As a school administrator I have facilitated well over 500+meetings with families and teachers to identify “what works” best for their child/children. Lastly, but most important, I have laughed, cried, struggled, and celebrated the ups and downs of raising my own children. My journeys, perhaps very different than others, but my personal goal is the same…to discover my personal truth and reach my full potential and help others navigate their course in life.
